Ekiti Govt Announces School Resumption Date for 2025/2026 Academic Session

The Ekiti State Ministry of Education has officially released the academic calendar for 2025/2026 session, outlining key dates for public primary and secondary schools in the state.

 

According to the calendar obtained by RAYOPOST and signed by Bayode Ogunmola on behalf of the permanent secretary in the ministry, the new academic session will commence on Monday, September 15th 2025.

 

The document details the start and end dates for each term, including mid-term holidays, ensuring a structured academic year.

The Ministry of Education has emphasized the importance of observing all national public holidays as declared by the Federal Government.

” Schools are also mandated to commence full academic work on the first day of each term, ensuring minimal disruptions to the academic schedule.

” Furthermore, the Ministry has directed that all schools choose a day for an ‘Open Day’, which will provide an opportunity for parents and teachers to interface. Schools are required to inform their respective Area Education Officers, Tutors-General, Education Secretaries, and the Ministry of Education of the chosen date for the ‘Open Day’.

” The release of the academic calendar provides clarity and structure for the upcoming academic session, enabling schools, teachers, and students to plan effectively.

” With this roadmap in place, the state’s educational institutions are poised for productive and successful academic year,”
