VIDEO : Ekiti Varsity Expels Student Captured In Viral Video Flogging Colleague

The management of the Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, Ikere, in Ekiti State has expelled one of its students captured in a viral video assaulting and flogging fellow student with a stick.

RAYOPOST reliably gathered that the management took the decision on Tuesday after a disciplinary committee was set up to investigate the incident said to have happened on Sunday in one of the hostels.

An official statement from the university will soon be released.

In the now-viral video, the bully ignored pleas from the victim, saying, “Let me draw blood from you easily or hardly.”

The incident reportedly took place on Sunday, the same day the video appeared on social media. The witness who recorded the video claimed it occurred on BOUESTI’s campus.

According to the video’s commentator, the victim is Ajayi Precious Gloria, while the perpetrator is a “very popular” Mass Communication student, suggesting that the two were friends.

Although the reason for the attack is not yet known, the video showed other individuals present during the assault, yet no one attempted to intervene.

The Ekiti state police command has also commenced investigation into the incident with a view to arrest the perpetrator.

Recall that in April, videos captured a distressing scene of a female student being subjected to bullying by a group of her peers, which circulated widely across social media platforms, igniting a wave of outrage and demands for justice.

The victim, identified as a student of the prestigious Lead British International School located in Abuja, has become the focal point of a disturbing incident that has drawn widespread attention online.

Following the incident, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) demanded a public hearing on bullying in schools.
