VIDEO : Drama As Shettima Asks Fubara To Greet Wike During Meeting With Tinubu

Vice President Kashim Shettima caused a mild stir on Thursday as he kindly requests Governor Sim Fubara of Rivers State to greet the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike.

Shettima made the request during a meeting between state governors and President Bola Tinubu, and some Service Chiefs at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

It was reliably gathered that President Tinubu summoned the meeting in view of the economic hardship in the country as well as the recent upsurge of insecurity in different parts of the country.

Recall that there has been an increase in inflationary trend especially since President Tinubu took over the realms of power.

Tinubu had on May 29th , 2023 while assuming power as President announced that, “subsidy is gone”, a development that elicited hardship and high cost of living.

There had also been cases of street protest in some parts of the country as a result of what they termed unbearable hardship.

Although, President Tinubu has directed his economic team including all relevant officials in the government to find a way to ameliorating the situation, the Special Presidential Committee on Emergency have been given approval to make available about 102,000 metric tons of assorted items including rice, maize, millet among others.

Meanwhile, Wike and Fubara have endured a silent cold war over the leadership of Rivers State.

Wike, who is the immediate past governor of the state has been trying to hold unto the political structure in the state despite being a minister.

Despite Tinubu’s intervention prevailing on them to sign a peace-pact, there are indications of a cold war between the duo.
