UTAKO DAY : Senator Jimoh Ibrahim Promises More Support To Community

• Gives Update on Bill for Federal Medical Center, Igbotako

• Says Each Senator has N2 Billion Provision In 2025 Budget

 

 

 

The lawmaker representing Ondo South Senatorial district in the senate, Dr Jimoh Ibrahim has promised more support to his country home of Igbotako, Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo state towards ensuring the socio-economic development of the ancient community.

 

Ibrahim who spoke on Thursday during the 2024 Utako Day Celebration in Igbotako, explained that since his election into the Senate in 2023, he has placed priority on the development of the community with his legislative assignment.

The chairman of the Senate committee on Inter parliamentary worldwide, explained that the bill for the establishment of a Federal Medical Center, Igbotako would soon be passed in the National Assembly.

While calling on the people to be united and work for the progress of the community,he advised against unnecessary bickering that could be detrimental to the development of the town.

 

He expressed optimism that with his University of Fortune which will soon begin full operations, the population of the community will increase and in turn contribute to the economic growth and development of the town.

Senator Ibrahim who congratulated the Rebuja of Osooro, Oba Gbadebo Bajowa for this year’s celebration, revealed that the 2025 budget as presented to the National Assembly by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has provision of about N2 billion for each senators for development of their districts across the country.

While directing people not to contribute money for the purchase of transformers, the Senator said he would provide more transformers for the community which would help to ensure more electricity supply to the people.

 

According to him, a prominent son of the community, Yomi Omogbehin has promised to donate more transformers for the community, saying,” anyone going around asking people to pay for transformers is on his own and should be ignored.”

 

He commended the chief launcher in the event, Philips Ogunejumelo, a United States based lawyer for his commitment and love for the community.
