Two Years in Office: A Journey of Service, Impact and Commitment in Ido/Osi, Moba and Ilejemeje Federal Constituency

_My dear people of Ido/Osi, Moba, and Ilejemeje,_
Two years ago, you gave me your mandate to represent your voices at the Green Chamber of the National Assembly. Today, I return not only to give account, but to celebrate the many lives we’ve touched, the communities we’ve impacted, and the progress we’ve ignited together.
In these two years, our achievements are not mere statistics, they are stories of hope restored, lives uplifted, and dignity preserved.
INFRASTRUCTURE & RURAL DEVELOPMENT
• Solar-powered boreholes installed in Iye Ekiti and Osi Ekiti.
• Streetlights installed in IreAkari, Iye Ekiti, and EdaOniyo Ekiti.
• Solar lighting provided at the Oba’s palace and marketplace in Ido Ekiti.
• Construction of walkways and procurement of modern medical equipment for Otun General Hospital.
• Drainage systems constructed in flood-prone areas.
• Grading and maintenance of several township and rural roads during the dry season.
• Facilitated construction and asphalt laying of:
• Otun–Osan Road
• Osan Township Road
EDUCATION & YOUTH DEVELOPMENT
• Procured over 1,000 JAMB forms for secondary school leavers.
• Paid NECO fees for final-year students of Ikosu Comprehensive High School.
• 750 undergraduate students received ₦25,000 bursaries each.
• 19 outstanding scholars awarded ₦75,000 scholarships for academic excellence.
• 100 students of Ikosu Grammar School received additional bursary support.
• Sponsored training of over 260 youths in digital technology, including Artificial Intelligence and software development—in partnership with Bamidele Olumilua University.
• Established and equipped ICT centres in:
• Ilogbo Ekiti
• Iye Ekiti
• Otun Ekiti
HEALTH & SOCIAL WELFARE
• Conducted a Free Medical Outreach across the constituency with:
• General health screenings
• Free medications
• Access to medical consultation
• 320 widows supported with ₦50,000 each.
• 320 elderly men given ₦25,000 each as a welfare gesture.
• Distributed 500 bundles of roofing sheets to support rainstorm victims in rebuilding their homes.
WOMEN EMPOWERMENT
• 200 sewing machines distributed across all 32 wards, empowering aspiring and existing tailors.
• 150 grinding machines distributed to support local food processing businesses.
• 50 hair dryers provided to young and existing hairstylists to grow their salons.
• Women beneficiaries selected from Ido/Osi, Moba, and Ilejemeje, ensuring every community felt the impact.
AGRICULTURAL SUPPORT
To boost food production and support our hardworking farmers:
• Distributed 500 bags of 50kg fertilizer.
• Provided two sprayers each to farmer cooperatives across the constituency.
BUSINESS EMPOWERMENT
To energize local businesses and reduce unemployment:
• 100 generators distributed to small-scale entrepreneurs to tackle the challenge of unreliable electricity.
• Empowered over 100 personal assistants on monthly stipends, supporting young graduates and political foot soldiers alike.
TRANSPORTATION & ECONOMIC MOBILITY
• 50 Brand-new motorcycles given to commercial motorcyclists across the constituency to:
• Boost rural transportation
• Create economic opportunities
• Ease movement of goods and people
SUPPORT FOR TRADITIONAL INSTITUTIONS
• Empowered 10 traditional chiefs (5 male, 5 female) with ₦25,000 cash support in each towns and villages, in appreciation of their community leadership.
POLITICAL STRUCTURE & GOVERNANCE
• Constituency Offices established in:
• Otun Ekiti
• Ido Ekiti
• EdaOniyo Ekiti
• Regular stakeholder engagements with:
• Security agencies
• Market leaders
• Community representatives
To address security and local economic development.
LEGISLATIVE DELIVERABLES
• Sponsored a bill for the creation of a School of Nursing in Ikosu Ekiti, currently at second reading.
• Pushed for the establishment of a School of Agriculture in Otun Ekiti, scheduled for third reading.
• Sponsored key motions on:
• Abuse of the new naira notes
• Proper funding of the Public Complaints Commission
• Prevention of torture of suspects during investigations
• Assisted in the federal employment process for qualified constituents, some now gainfully employed in ministries and parastatals.
Dear constituents, this is just two years, a halfway mark in a four-year mandate. Let me assure you: there are many more projects in the pipeline, including:
• Electrification of more communities
• Expansion of agricultural clusters
• Scholarship and skills training for indigent youth
• Upgrading school infrastructure
• Empowerment of traders and market women
• Ongoing engagements with MDAs for job placements.
To every man, woman, and youth in Ido/Osi, Moba, and Ilejemeje, I say thank you for your trust, your patience, and your constant support. I acknowledge with deep gratitude, His Excellency, Gov. Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji (BAO), for his visionary and exemplary leadership, Her Excellency, Deputy Governor, Chief (Mrs.) Monisade Afuye, for her support always. Our indefatigable party leaders from state to ward level. My constituents, aides, friends, and supporters, you make this journey worthwhile. This mandate remains my sacred duty. I will continue to serve with diligence, honesty, and passion. Together, let us build a constituency where progress is not just promised but felt.
