• Names other Members of Regional Commissions
President Bola Tinubu has forwarded a request to the Senate seeking confirmation of nominees for the South-West, North-Central, and South-South Development Commissions.
In his letter to the National Assembly, Tinubu named 19 nominees for the North-Central Development Commission, with Cosmas Akiyir from Benue State as Chairman and Cyril Yeltsin from Plateau State as Managing Director.
For the South-West Development Commission, 18 nominees were submitted, with Senator Olubunmi Adetunmbi from Ekiti state proposed as Chairman and Dr. Charles Akinola from Osun State as Managing Director.
Tinubu nominated 18 individuals, led by a former Senator from Ekiti State, Olubunmi Adetunbi as Chairman and Charles Akinola as Managing Director.
Other members from South West are; Bolaji Ariyo, Joseph Olugbenga, Scholastica Omoworare, Olumuyiwa Olabimtan, Adewinle Martins, Ibrahim Olaifa, Kabiru Lakwaya, Abdul Adamu a retired general, Arinola Fagbemi, Olugbenga Olufehinti, Tele Ogunjobi, Funmilayo Tejuosho, Fatai Ibikunle and Lateef Ajijola.
The South-South Development Commission also has 18 nominees, with Chibudom Nwuche nominated as Chairman and Usoro Offiong Akpabio as Managing Director.
The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio has referred the nominations to the relevant committees for screening and confirmation and asked the committee to report back to the senate in two weeks.
