Surv. Niran Akinniyi, an astute politician and successful surveyor, has been decorated with the prestigious honor of Fellow, Nigerian Institution of Surveyors (FNIS) by the Board of Fellows. The investiture, held at The Dome, Alagbaka, Akure, recognizes his outstanding contributions to surveying and commitment to excellence. Surv. Akinniyi’s exceptional leadership and dedication are evident in his tenure as Executive Chairman of Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo Local Government Area and former Senior Special Assistant to the Ondo State Governor on Monitoring and Performance, driving progress and development at the grassroots level.
The ceremony was attended by prominent dignitaries, including the Executive Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa (represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Taiwo Fasoranti), Speaker, Federal House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas (represented), and top NIS leadership, including the President, Surv. Dr. Matthew Olomolatan Ibitoye and Chairman, Board of Fellows, Surv. Dr. Olusola Atilola. Also present were friends and family, including Mrs. Ranti Akinniyi, Hon. Segun Odidi, Dr. Rotimi Wilson, and other dignitaries.
A lecture on “The Role of Surveying and Geoinformatics Professional in Promoting Accountability, Transparency, and Ethical Conduct in Public Service” was delivered by Hon. Justice Mainasara Ibrahim Kogo Umar, Chairman, Code of Conduct Tribunal in Nigeria.
