Pandemonium and chaos have gripped Ijan Ekiti a community in Ayekire(Gbonyin ) local government area of Ekiti as clashes between suspected political hoodlums belonging to the rival major political parties including the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC), resulted in lost of several millions of Naira and loss of lives on February 12th 2017.
The fracas which lasted for several hours reportedly left many properties including those belonging to Hon. Felix Oguntuase destroyed and the community deserted for fear of reprisal attacks in the night.
However, eyewitness accounts told RAYOPOST that the main target of the political thugs from APC was Hon. Felix Oguntuase who their perceived as too popular.
Oguntuase however escaped unhurt but his properties worth several millions of naira were set amazed, by the political thugs who invaded his home.
As the time of filling this report, a Toyota van with reg. XA 294FST, MAN DIESEL truck with reg. JB 684ABJ, Saw Mill were still burning in his compound while the security Agencies were seen accessing the situation in order to maintain law and order in the community.
Speaking to RAYOPOST, a woman who pleaded anonymity, stated that Mr Felix Oguntuase was smuggled out of the town after being kept inside the condemned waste bin of her neighbour for more than 3 hours, saying that up till now nobody knows his whereabouts.
“We thank God that his family was not with him during the assault, it can only be imagined what would have happened to him.”
Effort to contact the spokesperson for the two political parties proved abortive as at the time of filling the report, as non of them picked their calls or returned messages sent to them.
