Oyebanji’s Wife Welcomes First Baby of the year in Ekiti 

Wife of Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji, has welcomed the first baby delivered in the state in 2024 describing the birth as a harbinger of easiness and blessings for the people of the Land of Honour.
The First Lady led some government officials to the Comprehensive Health Centre, Adin, Ilawe Ekiti in Ekiti Southwest Local Government where the baby was born.
The baby, a girl, arrived at 12.02am. She was born into the family of Mr and Mrs Ahmed Bakare and she weighed 3.2 kilograms at birth. Her delivery was taken by the Centre’s health workers led by Mrs. Catherine Okunola.
The Governor’s wife donated cash and baby materials to the appreciative parents for the upkeep of the newborn baby.
Dr. Oyebanji who was warmly received on arrival by health workers and other residents of Ilawe Ekiti also described the baby as a bundle of joy for the family and the people of the state.
She said it was a thing of joy to lead other dignitaries to celebrate the birth of the baby and to share the joy of her delivery with her parents and other well wishers.
The First Lady offered heartfelt prayers for the baby and enjoined her parents to take good care of her.
She used the opportunity to urge the people of the state to support Governor Biodun Oyebanji and his administration in 2024 for the state to continue to witness development in every sector.
Dr. Oyebanji particularly commended the people of Ilawe Ekiti for their unflinching support for the Governor, their enthusiasm and excitement about the impact of the administration in their lives.
Earlier, the Executive Secretary of the Ekiti State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr. Ayodeji Seluwa, briefed the First Lady on the activities that led to the delivery of the baby at the facility.
He said health officials kept vigil in the night awaiting where the news of the delivery of the very first baby would emerge from but noted that the news came from Ilawe at exactly 12.02am.
The father of the baby, Mr. Ahmed Bakare, expressed his gratitude to the Governor’s wife for the visit and the donation of cash and gift items.
He prayed that the state would continue to witness peace, progress and development under the Oyebanji Administration.
