Already , the Independent National Electoral Commission has announced date for the next governorship election in Ondo state and it has been slated for November 16, 2024. This election is expected to usher in the successor of the current governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu come February 2025.
No doubt, the contest as usual is expected to throw up a whole number of aspirants including the pretenders but what should be key and crucial in the race is the ability of the citizens to determine the aspirants with clear cut agenda and plans for the development of the state.
In the face of the growing unemployment rate and the skewed socio-economic development in the state, it is expected that aspirants who are really prepared to lead would have the full understanding of the peculiarities and challenges confronting the state in a bid to provide solutions to them if elected.
However, events over the years have shown that many people declare interest to contest an election, unfortunately not to win or put up a great fight but to negotiate their ways to power or positions.
As the build up to the election officially kicks off after the festivities in January, citizens and indeed stakeholders should be above board in selecting aspirants they will support or listen to.
In view of this, the genuine transformation crusade of CODE-OOF’24 is real and that the people should be prepared to listen and key into this agenda in the overall interest of our dear Sunshine State. The agenda when fully unveiled, will address the socio-economic needs of the state and change the narratives across all sectors of the economy.
The OOF’24 agenda is the one to be spearheaded by a consummate and experienced personality with his well thought out and practicable policies and programmes that would address the yearnings of the citizens, including youths, women, aged and the less privileged. It will be a movement of genuine commitment and dedication to service not for pursuing personal or primordial interests.
It is an undeniable fact that the people of Ondo state has been made to experience the downside of governance in the last few months which we believe is occasioned by the unfortunate absence of our amiable Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu. Notwithstanding, this must be corrected as we approach the electioneering period by looking up to a credible personality who will be ready to lead from the front in terms of managing our human and material resources for the upliftment of the people and the state.
My dear people of Ondo state, in the mood of the festive period, let’s anticipate the coming of the GENUINE TRANSFORMATION AGENDA with OOF’24, which is what the state needs to navigate itself from the economic, social and systemic quagmire we are battling with at the moment.
It is OOF’24 , let us prepare and be ready to support the GENUINE TRANSFORMATION AGENDA for Ondo state as we set up to elect a new governor that will pilot the affairs of the state starting from February 2025 by the grace of God.
IT IS REAL, DOABLE AND ACHIEVABLE !
