The Deputy Governorship Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2024 election in Ondo State, Hon. Festus Akingbaso has dumped the opposition party for the ruling All Progressives Congress.
He was the running mate of the PDP candidate, Agboola Ajayi during the November 14,2024 election.
Akingbaso commonly known as Fessy West who represents Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives joined the APC in the plenary on Wednesday.
The Speaker of the House, Tajudeen Abass who read the letter of defection from the federal lawmaker welcomed him to the ruling party.
Akingbaso said he was joining the APC to align with its ideology and the renewed hope agenda of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu led government.
Akingbaso said he decided to leave the PDP because of the lingering crisis in the party and the determination to join forces with the renewed hope agenda to actualising the democratic aspirations of his people.
