As President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is expected to visit Ondo state on Wednesday, governorship aspirants in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) are already gearing up to show their strength during the president’s visit.
RAYO POST reliably gathered that President Tinubu upon arrival in the state will pay a courtesy visit to the leader of Afenifere, Pa Reuben Fasoranti in his Akure residence.
In the same vein, the president will also proceed to Owo on a condolence visit to the family of the late governor of Ondo state, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, who was committed to mother earth last week Friday.
Just as the governorship primary of the APC is scheduled for April , the aspirants who have declared their intention to contest the election are planning to use the occasion to show their strength and popularity for the presidential visit.
It was gathered that the majority of the top aspirants are already mobilizing their supporters and loyalists across the state to storm the state capital to welcome the president from the Akure airport.
Campaign materials such as posters, banners, caps and clothing materials are being produced in what is expected to be a show of strength and hostilities among the aspirants.
Many analysts have argued that President Tinubu will play a critical role in who emerges as the APC candidate for the November 16, 2024 governorship poll.
