A governorship aspirant, Dr Felix Olamide Ohunyeye has mourned the death of an aspirant, Dr Paul Akintelure.
Akintelure died in the early hours of Tuesday in Lagos after a brief illness.
In a statement from his campaign office, Ohunyeye said,
” Dr Felix Olamide Campaign Office received the sad news of the sudden demise of a political leader and an illustrious son of Ondo State, Dr Paul Akintelure, this morning with a rude shock and heavy heart.
” Until his death, he was an astute politician and aspirant to the Office of the Governor of Ondo State under the umbrella of our great party, the All Progressive Congress. Indeed, Dr. Akintelure was a perfect gentleman with amiable demeanour.
” In his lifetime, Dr. Akintelure demonstrated sheer determination towards the development of Ondo State and its people. He will surely be remembered for his immense contributions to the development of Ondo State and Nigeria at large.
” Therefore, as a mark of respect to the departed, all our political engagements have been suspended.
” Dr Olamide Felix Ohunyeye commiserates with the family, friends, and associates of Dr. Paul Akintelure.
” He also prays for the repose of the soul of the departed.”
