Obalodo of Oye-Ekiti, Oguntoyinbo Urges Youths To Shun Acts of Violence

The Obalodo of Oye-Ekiti and a former Ekiti state director of National Orientation Agency, Chief Bamitale Oguntoyinbo, has advised members of oye Youth association, and its executive members to desist from any act of violence or criminal actions that can tarnish the image of their respective families and oye community at large.

Chief Oguntoyinbo gave this advice in Oye Ekiti when the association paid him a congratulatory visit on his recent installation as Obalodo of Oye of kingdom.

The visit which came up after the meeting of the association held in Ilodo quarters in Oye-Ekiti on Sunday, Chief Bamitale Oguntoyinbo commended the leadership and members of the association for being upright, focused, and determined to move Oye-Ekiti forward by cooperating with oye Progressive Union, kabiyesi Oloye, his council members and the entire community.

 

He explained further that, it’s in the atmosphere of peace devoid of violence that the community can grow for the interest of all.

Chief Oguntoyinbo, a fmr CLG, Oye, also used the forum to call on oye sons and daughters, within and outside, world wide to assist the qualified youths of the community to secure job opportunities in both public and private sectors in the interest of the future development of Oye-Ekiti.

The Obalodo of oye kingdom, appealed to the entire youths to be hard working, and assist the law enforcement agencies and the government at large to track down criminals in the community.

He called on the youths to rally round to see that the only unique cultural and traditional festival ” Oro Oye, or Ode festival is as old as oye kingdom, just like olojo festival in Ile-ife.

He said Ode festival must not be allowed to go into extinction. He pointed out that government all over, allows freedom of religion and encourages traditional festival, provided it does not involves human sacrifice.

The Obalodo of Oye-Ekiti kingdom being the chief priest of ode festival, promised to work hard to see the festival listed amongst the festival in Ekiti by the bureau of Arts and culture, and promote it to gain state and international attention.

The Youths who admonished , and praised Chief Oguntoyinbo for his outstanding roles in providing jobs opportunities for Oye sons and daughters in the positions held so far , promised to work with him to see that Ode cultural festival in Oye-Ekiti is modernised to grow to an enviable standard to promote the cultural image of oye as a community like other communities in the Ekiti State.
