Oakland School Pupils Record Excellent Results In Ondo Common Entrance Examination
• Celebrates 9th Valedictory/End of the Session Ceremony In Grand style
No fewer than 10 Pupils of the leading educational institution in Ondo state, Oakland Kids School, Oda Road, Akure South Local Government Area have recorded excellent results in the just concluded common entrance examination into JSS 1.
In the results obtained by RAYOPOST on Wednesday, the first of the ten pupils scored 296/300 representing 98.67 percent, while the least had 242/300 which is 80.67 percent.
Five pupils scored above 90% while the other five scored not less than 80%.
The proprietor of the school, Brigadier General Joe Komolafe(retd) who expressed joy over the results, commended the pupils for the success recorded.
At the 9th valedictory ceremony and end of session activities which was celebrated with funfair and in Grand style where it graduated 14 nursery two pupils to primary one and ten primary five pupils to the outside world.
Two of the primary five pupils scored hundred percent in mathematics while one pupil scored hundred percent in English language
Speaking, the proprietor of the school, Brigadier General Joe Komolafe(retd) who expressed joy over the results, commended the pupils for the success recorded in the State’s examination.
Komolafe advised the graduating pupils that success was a journey not a destination hence they should endeavour to achieve their great dreams.
He urged them to always be change agents in order to make differences and contribute to the socio-economic development of the society.
” I am happy to inform you that at the State Common Entrance examination this year, all our pupils scored above the school’s 75% benchmark. Fikayomi who had the best result in the Exam scored 296/300(98.67%), and the least person scored 242/300(80.67%). I want to assure you that we will continue to work harder in order to improve on our standard by continually opening the door of the largest room in the world (which is room for improvement).
Dear all, continue to support and pray for us to keep giving the best,” he said.
He further said, ” You are the pride of our school and the hope of our country.
Many of you will become leaders in politics, in the industries, academia and commerce within and outside the shores of Nigeria. I am confident that with the training you have all received from this school, you will be worthy of ambassadors and make a great impact upon your country and the world at large.
” Let me also seize this opportunity to remind you graduates, that you must continue to learn and improve yourselves. Success is a journey not a destination, receiving your certificates today does not signal an end but rather the beginning of a long journey towards your dreams and a great destiny. I have often said at graduation ceremonies that it is what you do, and how you do it after graduation, that will determine your success in life. Please do not relent on your efforts because you are still an unfinished work in God’s hands.
” As you walk across the stage and receive your award, you start at that end as a student, and leave this end as an old student. I encourage you to continue to pursue your interests and remain committed to the principles of hard work, discipline and responsibility which you have imbibed at O.K.S. Make us proud by being hard working, innovative and responsible citizens in the society, where it is becoming harder to find persons with good morals and academic excellence, we hope you will be the change agents that we need to make a difference in our society. Be ethical in your future work, live a meaningful life and follow your dreams.”
Komolafe while commending stakeholders especially parents and guardians for their support and trust in the school management, charged them to bring in additional pupils, apart from their families, with a promise of monetary incentive.
The special guest of the occasion and Royal Father of the, the Oluyin of Iyin-Ekiti, Oba Adeola Ajakaiye explained that the school pupils achieved the feats due to the discipline instilled in them by the school management.
Oba Ajakaiye said making hundred percent in those core subjects by the pupils was a remarkable achievement hence he urged the school management to maintain the standards.
“This feat of making the best examinations result in the state had shown that it is a testament that the school is on the strong note both in character wise because as a military man, he taught these students to be well disciplined academically,” he said.
The chairman of the celebration, Segun Oluwaji who commended the school management for their efforts on the pupils, urged the parents to always make sacrifices to fund their children’s education in the interest of the future.
Oluwaji pointed out that those parents who undermined their children’s education but engaged in acquiring unnecessary things were at the risks to suffer at their old age.
The best student of the session, Miss Fikayomi Akinnuli attributed her achievements in dedication to always reading her books.
Miss Akinnuli advised other pupils in the school to always study hard to achieve their goals as she commended the staff and management of the school for their thorough teachings.
“Being the best pupil of Oakland Kids nursery and primary school, I feel glad and happy about being the best student. There are a lot of things I will say about Oakland Kids nursery and primary school. Firstly it is the best school you can send your child to be educated because both academically and morally, your child will be taught and you will never regret it,” she said.
The celebration attracted dignitaries from all works of life to include the Olomu of Ilomu Ekiti, Oba Oluwadamilare Omobire, the Commanding Officer 323 REGIMENT AKURE Lieutenant Colonel Umar Barau who represented the Brigade commander 32 Artillery brigade, parents among others.
The colourfully dressed graduating pupils filled out differently to entertain the audience with choreographic displays to celebrate their graduations.
The highlight of the celebration was the presentation of awards to the best pupils in the school.
