NAOSS Dismisses Illegal, Unconstitutional Election Body,Says Recognized Poll Holds May 31

The Leadership of the National Association of Ondo State Students (NAOSS) under the able watch of the Global President, Comrade Oyelade Hammed has urged the general public to disregard the unauthorized and illegitimate gathering shamefully paraded as a national electoral body of the association by some faceless individuals, driven by desperation and mischief.

In a statement jointly signed by all the executive of NAOSS,it clarified that the said gathering and body is illegal, unconstitutional, and stands null and void.

The Number one umbrella body of Student in ondo state noted that the said gathering and pronouncement of such unknown individuals did not follow the procedures laid down in the NAOSS constitution and was never initiated by the legitimate leadership of the association.

It also reiterated that the official NAOSS National Election and Handover date has been duly announced and is scheduled to hold on Saturday, 31st May, 2025, following other transitional activities and procedures.

“The attention-seeking action conducted by some faceless individuals (figuratively referenced as “Ijemikin Boys”) is nothing short of a staged, fraudulent exercise that lacks legitimacy, credibility, and the involvement of constitutionally empowered structures of the association.

For clarity, the so-called election:
1. Had no official call for expression of interest or collection of nomination forms.
2. Produced no known or screened candidates.
3. Bypassed all stages of legitimate campaigning and manifesto presentations.
4. Was conducted without the involvement of recognized NAOSS Senators from accredited chapters.
5. Took place within 48 hours without any transparent process.
6. Was populated by external elements with no affiliation to NAOSS, further exposing its farcicality.

Any institution or individual that allowed their name to be used in this fraudulent exercise without rightful representation will bear full responsibility and be held accountable for impersonation and breach of association protocol.

NAOSS therefore call on all Ondo State students across Nigeria and in the diaspora to disregard and reject this shameful attempt to derail the association’s democratic process. NAOSS remains a students’ body that thrives on constitutionalism, order, and fairness.

The leadership of Comrade Oyelade Hammed remains committed to the principles of transparency, inclusiveness, and due process. We are fully prepared to defend the dignity of NAOSS and uphold the sanctity of our democratic structures.

Let it be known: The only recognized and scheduled NAOSS National Election holds on Saturday, 31st May, 2025 as earlier stated.
