A frontline hopeful for the All Progressives Congress(APC) top seat in Ondo State, Prince Solagbade Amodeni, has promised to deploy his rich political experience and human management resources to further revitalize the party in the state and complement the gains of the current leadership.
Speaking to newsmen over the weekend, the former Akoko South East council boss, a founding member of Alliance for Democracy, affirmed his commitment to the progress of APC, the state government and Ondo State in general. According to him, his resumé as Commissioner for Natural Resources and Adult, Technical and Vocational Education, and recently Physical Planning and Urban Development, stands him out.
‘Political parties are known to be the bedrock of all successful governments. With my experience in people management and extensive work in Ondo State political terrain and government circle, I have what it takes to further raise the bar in Ondo APC. As party members, we have continuously rallied behind our people and the government, supporting people-oriented policies and programs. Imagine then, the extent I will go as the chairman of the party in the state.
‘As a businessman and entrepreneur, I understand the power of integrity and goodwill. I also cannot underestimate the power of the people. I have managed these valuable resources, both as a private individual and in the business of politics. These qualities have prepared me for the position of the chairmanship of our great party.’
Displeased that politicians have contributed to the distrust people now have for the government, Amodeni, a community developer and veteran grassroots mobilizer, assured party members he will be a fair, just, honest and listening official if elected as the chairman of APC in Ondo State.
‘There was a time when the political class was close and well knitted. You would think they were cult groups. No, they were not. It was all love and honesty. The leadership of any political group then was sincere to their followers. They were open and honest. Party members had access and could lay claim to what rightfully belonged to them. It helped build trust in the government then. I’m bringing that back’, he said.
Prince Solagbade Amodeni is from Ipesi Akoko, in Akoko South East Local Government of Ondo State.
