Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji has taken a significant step towards improving waste management in the state.
During a visit to the Ekiti State Waste Management Authority office, he announced the fabrication of additional dino bins.
The governor personally inspected the first batch of the newly fabricated dino bins and announced plans for more to be produced.
He also assessed the condition of trucks and other large waste collection equipment.
In a show of appreciation, Governor Oyebanji commended the efforts of the commissioner for Environment, Chief (Mrs) Tosin Aluko-Ajisafe and other officials of the ministry towards having a clean society.
The initiative marks the beginning of a journey towards a cleaner Ekiti and demonstrates the government’s commitment to effective waste management.
Stakeholders in the state have hailed the commitment of the commissioner, Tosin Aluko-Ajisafe towards improving waste management in the state with her dedication at achieving the plans of Governor Biodun Oyebanji for the state.
Speaking, the commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Chief (Mrs) Tosin Aluko-Ajisafe, commended governor Oyebanji for his support and interest in proper waste management in the state.
The Commissioner said, ” First of all, with a crucial message regarding the health and well-being of our community. Our esteemed governor has been tirelessly working to ensure that our state becomes and remains epidemic-free.
” In the coming days, we will be introducing Dino bins at strategic locations throughout our community. These bins are vital in maintaining a clean and healthy environment. I implore each and every one of you to cooperate with the state government’s efforts by responsibly disposing of your refuse in these designated bins.
” Dumping refuse on road medians poses a significant threat to the cleanliness and safety of our community. Therefore, it is of utmost importance that we cease this practice immediately.
” Our governor is here to inspect these newly installed Dino bins, Please be advised that stringent measures will be implemented to address any non-compliance.
” Let us join hands to create a safer, cleaner, and healthier community for ourselves and future generations. Your cooperation is essential in achieving this shared goal.”
