Ekiti Commissioner, Erelu Tosin Aluko-Ajisafe Meets Igbo, Hausa Traders , Reiterates Thursday’s Market Sanitation 

The Ekiti State Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources Erelu Tosin Aluko Ajisafe has announced the commencement of market sanitation across Ekiti State tomorrow, Thursday, 14th March 2024.

 

The commissioner reminded the leadership of Igbo and Hausa traders in her office today as a follow-up to last week’s meeting with market leaders including Iyalajes and Iyalojas where she told them that every Thursday between 7- 10 am would be used to clean markets, stalls, and shops in all towns and villages in Ekiti State.

 

Erelu Aluko Ajisafe who sought the cooperation of Ekiti traders and the general public, emphasized total compliance. She reiterated that the exercise would not only make the state clean but would save residents from imminent diseases and outbreaks of cholera.

The commissioner applauded Governor Oyebanji for investing heavily towards making Ekiti state the cleanest in Nigeria, saying the distribution of dino bins to all local Governments across the state and its placement in strategic places is a pointer to making Ekiti free of diseases and outbreaks of cholera.

The commissioner further stated that Lagos and Ondo states have set aside a day in the week to clean their environments and Markets too.
