In a bid to ensure the health and well-being of the people at the grassroots level, the DACT international organization has sought to collaborate with the Ondo state government towards meeting the nutritional needs of people in rural communities in the state.
In a letter addressed to the Permanent Secretary of the State Ministry of Health, Dr. Francis Adegoke Akanbiemu by the state coordinator of DACT, Prince Orimisan Adelokiki which was made available to RAYOPOST, the organization noted that the proposal was for the flag off of the pilot scheme in Igbotako, Okitipupa Local Government Area of the state through the Primary Health Care Centers (PHCs).
The letter reads, “
I am reaching out to explore the possibility of collaborating and Immediate flag of our Pilot Scheme in Igbotako Okitipupa Ondo state with the Ministry of Health to address the nutritional needs of rural communities in Ondo State.
” Our proposal centers around the supply of nutrition supplements and birthing kits through Primary Health Centers (PHCs) in these areas, aiming to enhance the overall health and nutritional status of the residents.
” Ondo State, like many other regions, faces challenges related to malnutrition and inadequate access essential nutrients and birthing kits, particularly in its rural communities. We believe that a collaborative effort between our organization and the Ministry of Health can significantly contribute to addressing these issues.
” The primary objective of this collaboration is to provide targeted nutrition supplements and birthing kits to vulnerable populations in rural areas through PHCs. By leveraging the existing healthcare infrastructure, we aim to ensure a more comprehensive and sustainable approach to addressing nutritional deficiencies and mortality rate in the rural communities.
” We believe that this collaboration aligns with the Ministry of Health’s mission to improve the health and well-being of the people of Ondo State. We would be honored to meet with you at your earliest convenience to discuss this proposal in more detail and explore the potential for joint implementation.
