Sadiya Umar Farouq, the immediate past Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, has arrived at the office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
Farouq announced her arrival at the anti-graft office on her official X handle on Monday 8 2024.
“I have, at my behest, arrived at the headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to honour the invitation by the anti-graft agency to offer clarifications in respect of some issues that the commission is investigating”, she stated.
RAYO POST reports that the minister, who served under former President Muhammadu Buhari’s led administration is accused of laundering over the sum of N37,170,855,753.44.
The money was said to have been laundered through a contractor identified as James Okwete.
Probing the allegation, EFCC had invited the former minister for clarification.
But, the former minister initially failed to honour the invitation due to health challenges.
