The newly elected chairmen of the 18 Local Government Areas in Ondo state will be inaugurated on February 10,2025, barring any last minute change, RAYOPOST has learnt.
The 18 LGAs Chairmen and their councillors of the All Progressives Congress (APC)were elected during the local government election held on Saturday January 18,2025.
RAYOPOST reliably gathered that the state governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa met with the elected council officials where it was agreed that the inauguration should take place in February.
Our correspondent learnt that the planned funeral rites of the former Secretary to the State Government, Hon Temitayo Oluwatuyi popularly known as Tuykana necessitated the delay in the inauguration of the elected chairmen.
Oluwatuyi who died recently after involving in a road accident, according to family members will be buried in the first week of February.
As a mark of respect for the departed SSG, the Swearing-In ceremony of the newly elected 18 LGAs Chairmen will take place after his internment on February 7 in Akure, the Ondo state capital.
