A middle-aged man, Amos Adelabu has appealed for financial help of N1.5 million from the governor of Ekiti state, Biodun Oyebanji for his 31-month old boy, Paul Adelabu who has been diagnosed for cancer of both eyes.
The baby was diagnosed at the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital Ado-Ekiti on September 2, 2024 where he was detected with the defects in both his eyes.
He was later referred to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, Kwara state where he is currently being managed by medical personnel.
The consultant Paediatric Ophthalmologist, Professor Ademola Popoola in a letter said the infant is facing a life threatening situation that requires urgent attention with N1,518,000.
He said,” He is currently receiving monthly doses of cancer treatment as well as other specialized treatments(Laser Therapy and intravitreal chemotherapy) in both eyes.”
His father, a staff of the Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology Ikere in a letter appealed to the governor for financial help to save the life of his precious son.
He added that he is yet to receive any favourable response from the government despite his letter being received on October 25,2024 by the office of the governor.
The letter reads,“ My son is currently receiving monthly doses of cancer treatment as well as other specialized treatments in both eyes.
“ I am hereby using this medium to inform you sir of this development as well as appeal for financial assistance to.”
