A citizen and concerned stakeholder, Michael Olatunji has written a public letter to the Registrar of Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Professor Ishaq Oloyede over the timetable for the ongoing 2025 UTME examination.
Below is the letter,
*Attention:*
Prof. Ishaq Oloyede
Registrar, Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB)
JAMB Head Office, Abuja
Dear Prof. Oloyede,
*Re: Urgent Review of Examination Timetable*
I am writing to express concern and distress regarding the early morning examination schedule for JAMB candidates. Yesterday’s experience (April 26, 2025) has brought to light the challenges faced by students and parents alike.
The 6:30 am examination start time poses significant difficulties for many candidates, particularly teenagers who have to travel long distances to reach their examination venues. Some students had to leave their homes as early as 4:30 am, which is unreasonable and potentially hazardous.
We urge you to reconsider the examination timetable and reschedule it to a more convenient time. This would greatly alleviate the stress and anxiety experienced by students and parents.
Some parents are still searching for their children as I write this letter, which highlights the gravity of the situation. We believe that the well-being and safety of candidates should be a top priority.
We request that you take immediate action to review the examination schedule. Failure to do so may lead to legal consequences if any harm or undue hardship is suffered by candidates.

Sincerely,
Michael Olatunji
